My tips for living abroad in Italy
Why I Teach in Italy
From a small country town in America, I knew from the young age that I wanted to travel and explore the world. I was a country girl having a city heart, as well as the small capital of scotland - approximately 2500 people had not been where my calling lied.
After earning a teaching degree I made a decision that it was here we are at a big change. I wanted to travel not in the US, and so i began to explore opportunities available elsewhere personally. 2-3 weeks later I came across an excellent teaching position in Rome, Italy.
I was hired for that position which will start at the beginning of the brand new school year. I started making preparations and before I knew it arrived will be able to board a plane and start a fresh life within this fantastic country. It had been a thing that was long awaited yet still nerve wrecking.
I’m often asked what I like about teaching in Italy. This is not an easy question to resolve. It isn’t which i don't like anything about teaching in Italy; you will find quite a few things that I enjoy regarding it to merely pick one. This can be, undoubtedly, the most amazing experience that i've ever been an integral part of.
Obviously my paycheck is one thing which i love as well. Working with a top university in Rome, my pay is way higher than things i would have found in America. I love to work and find out those paychecks!
But, to enjoy a job you need to love greater than the paycheck, and i also can say i truly love everything about being a teacher in Italy. My students encourage me in numerous ways. They create it easy to wind down, unwind and feel as if I'm amongst a small grouping of old college friends. There exists a great time day in and day out, all the while they learn nearly as much as me.
The job offers us a great schedule. I can teach my students yet still be home when my kids get out of school. I work part-time but receive full benefits and pay. I don't know how the hours as well as the schedule that I have would be something I really could find working elsewhere.
I also love being in Rome since there is so much to understand more about and thus much that i can learn . It really is far distinct from what I am used to, however enjoy every minute from it. There's never a dull moment for me, and I know that I am living life for the fullest.I really like a brief history in Rome, I love the folks and their eagerness to understand.
For anyone considering teaching internationally, Italy happens when to be. Deciding to visit abroad and teach on this school is a truly remarkable experience that has forever changed my well being. I will be so grateful which i was given the ability. It isn’t each day that such an opportunity occurs.
